I work with a diverse array of people - diverse in age; experience; career and position; cultural, self and gender identity; and life challenges. That said, most everybody in coaching has specialities, and I am no exception. In light of my personal history and journey (see About Marty) I find myself particularly well matched to people who might describe themselves as senior executives and business or organizational leaders, social entrepreneurs, educators, change agents, and people for whom an important personal focus is an integration of career, societal and personalwellbeing.
How do you and I decide if we are matched to working together? Basically we need to talk and explore the question - with no expectations at the outset as to the answer. If we do enter into a coaching relationship, the question of match and how long we work together is always live, and the answer primarily remains in your hands.
Regardless of where we start and what we determine is the initial focus of our work together, I partner with you on your journey to realize your most fulfilling life – at work, as leaders, and as human beings. We seek to access your unique yet universal inner resources – awareness, creativity, and confidence – to strengthen the skills, capacity and motivation that underlie success in all ways that matter to you. My experience is that most people want to do well and do good, be happy, and enrich the lives they share – in short a life of value and values.
I draw on my history as a senior executive, social and business entrepreneur, and in social change intertwined with lifelong dedication to the practices and teaching of mindfulness and meditation. I’ve learned that how we show up in our lives and work is more critical than our credentials and that personal and organizational well-being and accomplishment are inextricably intertwined.
My approach is to discover and learn from powerful questions, how to probe the hard stuff, declare clear intentions, and figure out how to get there. I draw on the wisdom within progressive neuroscience, mindfulness-awareness, and pragmatic action learning to design and sustain nimble, effective, and resilient approaches to living in challenge and leading ‘from our authentic center’.
